Our Evaluation Process

Part 1

In the first half of day 1, players are placed by age for the initial evaluation.  This process, known as the "Fast Drill", allows players to compete on a tier that is within their age group.  During this process, players will play in 12 minute blocks against other players their age.  After each 12 minute block, players are moved to a different group based on what the coaches see during the competition.  This process is repeated 5 times with players being moved accordingly.  Players are never moved backward in this process to a younger group.

Part 2

A more skill based analysis is performed by the coaching staff to further subdivide the initial courts.  Players are evaluated by their skill level in serving, hitting, forearm passing and hand passing.  The secondary evaluation takes place immediately after part 1 of the evaluation.  This creates the initial courts for instruction in the second half of day 1.

Part 3

There is an on going evaluation through the first half of day 3 in which players are again moved to courts based on performance.  A player is asked to move to a different court if she demonstrates superior skill and attitude to the coaches on her initial court.

Part 4

At the end of the week, your daughter will receive an evaluation from her court coach which covers all facets of her game.  We encourage your daughter to regularly communicate with her court coach in order to maximize her instruction at camp.  The staff members are great resources who have been chosen because they love the sport and want to help others improve.
